WIlls, WILLS DISPUTES, or CONTESTED WILLS

Picture
WIll is a fundamental and the oldest tools in existence to transfer and provide for your loved ones after you pass. Why is it important? The rules for transfer of property by default, i.e. State Rules are very rigid and do not coincide with your thoughts, feels and your judgement as to who deserves your assets.
If you want to ensure that your loved ones will get your property and other assets upon your passing, it is a great idea to have a will in place.

WHAT IS A WILL?
A Will is a legal document that sets forth how your assets will be distributed, and how your minor children if any will be provided for. There are certain rules that have to be met for a Will to be valid. There are several different types of Wills and not all of them are valid in California.
WHY DO I NEED A WILL?
Having a proper Will gives you complete control over your assets and how distribution of them is handled. You decide who gets your car, house, cash, your personal items, family heirlooms. You can direct your investments, business property, stocks to beneficiaries of your choosing.

Having a Will prevents family feuds over your assets. It provides for a smooth process where the guess work is taken out.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Contrary to popular belief, Wills are not expensive at all. We custom write Wills for our clients for as little as $499.00.

DO I NEED AN ATTORNEY?
Like most legal matters, you never need an attorney to write a Will, but having one will definitely ensure that your Will cover all the necessaries. Having an attorney will also ensure that your Will passes muster and be accepted for probate. There are downsides to just have a Will as your only Estate Planning document.

WILL DISPUTES OR CONTESTED WILLS

I NEED A LAWYER TO REPRESENT ME, MY PARENTS/RELATIVES WILL IS BEING CONTESTED?
If you are beneficiary of a Contested Will (A Will that is being challenged), then it is paramount to have adequate representation. Having a lawyer on your side provides you with the knowledge and support required during these times. It also ensures adequate representation in Will Disputes.
